Hi Bob, and thank you. My Unofficial Wang VS Information Center website continues, but as it runs in AIX on an RS/6000 and I don't have time to move it to Linux, I don't have any really good forum and blogging software I can add to it.

We're well established now with the next generation of Wang VS, the New VS, also known as the VS22000 family. It is based on Dell PowerEdge servers with high-end performance in excess of twice that of the legacy high-end VS18950.

This past Summer Getronics announced end of support for all legacy VS equipment. Anyone still operating a Wang VS, even if only for archival/retrieval purposes, should look into upgrading to the New VS to avoid unexpected failures and the possibility that lack of spare parts may make it impossible to repair their VS. Moreover, virtually all legacy VS equipment is now extremely old, with most disk drives long past their design lifetimes. Very few VS parts have been manufactured at all in the last 10-15 years.
