Trying to get a third party chat app working

I purchased a subscription to a live help chat facility but I'm not sure I can add HTML code anywhere on this ning.com site to activate it. The code follows:

It looks like ning.com has protected the site against Javascript and HTML everywhere I can post or modify anything. I'll have to ask them if it's possible. I suspect not. ning has their own apps that can be added to a site but most of them are complete junk, like games or having daily pet pictures sent to you. Ugh.

Live chat is now available on this site as well as on The Unofficial Wang VS Information Center. Here you can look for it on the left-side "wall", near the bottom of the page. At the Unofficial site look for it on the blue front page. It will offer live text chat if I am available, and leaving a message if I am not available for chat.

I discovered that as the admin I am able to use Javascript in the "text box." Accordingly, and because the ning chat seems to be buggy, I have added the third-party live chat widget to the text box at the left.

I also have free phone calling throughout North America and some European countries. I will be happy to call any of you who want to speak by phone. Either of the text chats is a good place to send me a phone number that won't be visible or persistent to others or public.

OK... here is how chat stands:

I activated the simple chat available here at wangvs.ning.com. Unfortunately the audible notification on a message post in chat doesn't seem to work for me, so unless I'm sitting here at the computer I won't hear a chat attempt. But it's free and part of the site features.

I added the paid live help chat on my Unofficial Wang VS Information Center website, on the front page, and tested it. It is much more comprehensive, has working audible ring signal on initiation and audible sound on each incoming line of posted text. It also allows saving a transcript at the end of the live help session. Feel free to use either. I will try to keep the chat stuff open in case anyone tries to use it.

The simple chat facility here is difficult to see. It's a small green thing at the lower right of the screen. If you click it it opens and shows you who is available for chat on the site. The default is a community chat. Supposedly it can also be used for private chats but I have only now added it and do not yet have any experience using it. Try it. I will try to be in the chat when I can, so if you see me you may be able to chat with me.

Well, there is a simple chat function that is available from the host of this site, and I have added it so we can try using it. The more comprehensive live help chat is now active on the front page of my Unofficial Wang VS Information Center website.
